70 pin Break-out Box.
Semiconductor failure, test and evaluation interface. Allows the engineer to connect to a wafer via a "probe card" interface, then by manipulating the front panel switches configure any combination of open, grounded or Vcc connected probes. Additionally, on "open" channels signals may be injected or extracted as required. This series of equipment is custom created for each client based on the number of probed points and interface options desired. |

Delayed Trigger Generator.
Custom research instrument which produces an output pulse delayed from the input trigger pulse from 0 - 999 mSEC selectable by front panel thumbwheel switches . Additionally, once the unit outputs the delayed pulse a user definable re-trigger hold-off from 0 - 9,990 mSEC is engaged preventing triggering within the exclusion window. |

Clearly, ease of service was a design consideration, although the simple logic and low I/O voltage levels make it unlikely that service will ever be required. |

Dual Chamber Research Pump.
Electro-mechanical design with custom engineered electronic user interface and machine control. The operator configures and runs the instrument from two menu screens and a minimal complement of controls. This unit is also capable of being controlled externally with LabView or other similar industrial control software. |

5 Channel Scanning Ohm meter:
This five channel scanning analyzer utilizes four wire Kelvin resistance measurement techniques to accurately characterize the device under test. Additionally, the instrument compares each measurement against user set LOW/HIGH - PASS/FAIL limits. Finally the system utilizes digital pattern recognition to confirm proper end to end termination as well as testing for internal shorts and opens. |

Medical Training Device.
This unusually shaped printed circuit assembly is the heart of a hand held field training device. The large round opening provides clearance for a Lithium battery. The three small push switches activate different features of the device. Close inspection of the slot on the upper left side of the board reveals a three stage (YELLOW - GREEN - RED) go/no-go style gram force detector fashioned from 10 mil BeCu wire. |

Process Oven Flame Control Relay.
This unusual and expensive control relay was sent to us from a remotely located facility. The client's concern was to validate the operational integrity of this devise prior to replacing it. The array of wires, lights and substitution box are configured to simulate the oven gas valves and infrared flame detectors. Our bench testing proved the control relay to be fully operational which assisted the client in isolating the fault to a low cost sensor. |

Printed Circuit Boards.
This collage demonstrates our versatility in designing printed circuit boards. Simple double sided boards as well as more complex multi-layer and controlled impedance examples are pictured. The applications highlighted by these samples cover semiconductor probe cards, industrial monitoring and motion control, lighting effects, test instrument and artistic enhancement designs. |

Two Channel Lighting Controller. Simple traic driver circuit driven by a 555 timer IC provides alternating illumination of two AC line voltage lighting loads. This unit provides special lighting effects for products of a local artist. |

Three Channel Lighting Controller.
The pictured assembly switches between three AC line voltage lighting loads. As it changes from channel to channel it fades the active channel to off while bringing the next channel to full brightness. It is also possible to daisy chain up to three units controlling a sequence of nine lighting loads.

Industrial Controls.
CRD engineers can service, modify and rebuild industrial machine and process control cabinets as well as the machines themselves. Additionally, CRD has designed, fabricated and installed new and rebuilt controls on a variety of machine types. This service not only addresses needs within the "main" control cabinet but wiring, pneumatic, safety and operator interface issues. In many cases CRD has completely remanufactured every aspect of entire machines.
